We provide notarial services to a wide range of companies and individuals in Guernsey for a variety of purposes and are happy to discuss what your needs are or to review documents that need to be notarised and advise on the best way to approach matters.
A large part of what we do as a Notary Public is to provide certification of documents as true copies of the originals. This can range from identification documents, to trust instruments, to agreements, to the memorandum and articles of incorporation of companies, shareholder registers and many more.
Another busy area of our notarial practice includes arranging for people to swear or affirm affidavits, to complete powers of attorney or to verify the identity of persons signing an agreement before a Notary Public under Guernsey law, whether for use in Guernsey or worldwide.
We can assist where there is a need for a document to be legalised by having an apostille attached after the notarial act (notarisation) has been applied by a Notary Public. The 1961 Hague Convention relating to the legalisation of documents has been extended to Guernsey.
Our Notary Public can provide an opinion confirming the existence of a company or other entity, or to confirm the authority of a signatory to enter into an agreement, to execute a document or similar.
All notarial services are provided by the Guernsey firm of advocates ABT, which is regulated by the Guernsey Bar and registered with the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.
Our Notaries Public are regulated by the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury which maintains jurisdiction for the appointment (and partial regulation) of Notaries Public in certain overseas jurisdictions.
We provide all aspects of notarial services in addition to the services highlighted here. If you have any queries over the services provided please get in touch.
Our Notary Public works with lawyers from other jurisdictions outside of Guernsey and it is common to form part of the professional team on transactional work providing notarial services.
